Why Sailor Moon Does Not Work as a Dark Fantasy
Sailor Moon is one of the most iconic magical girl anime in history. And the series itself can be pretty dark and disturbing at times. But what if we rewrote Sailor Moon into something a little darker?
In this writing experiment, we will see how close Sailor Moon is to becoming a raw dark fantasy anime in the style of Revolutionary Girl Utena or Madoka Magica, as well as why it's probably best this alternate vision of Sailor Moon never came to pass.
