In this video I'll show you how to create an interesting light shimmer effect in AE and add it to an already configured mesh in Spine 2D.
I will show two ways to achieve this effect, using the full sequence or just a few images, and also give some recommendations for optimization.
0:00 The first part of the video is creating a light shimmer (glare/shine) effect in After Effects.
2:15 The second is working with a png sequence in Spine 3.8.
8:59 The third part is another method, in which I use only a few frames from the png sequence (only 5 images instead of 21), which significantly saves space in the atlas, but at the same time increases performance costs (increases the number of vertex transforms).
11:56 And in the end I showed how to apply a png sequence to a mesh (the same as in the second part of the video), but for Spine 4.1+, which introduced tools for working with sequences.
