Mikrotik Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) implementation in Virtualbox
CHR supports 64-bit x86 device architecture with the minimum specifications needed are:
- RouterOS version is 6.34 or later
- 64-bit CPU that supports virtualization
- Minimum 128MB RAM for example
- Minimum disk size of 128MB (maximum 128GB)
CHR can be used in virtualization applications such as VirtualBox, VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM and others.
CHR has RouterOS with full features that are enabled by default, but have a license model that is different from other RouterOS versions.
What can the Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) do with Virtualbox?
We can use it for classroom training purposes (if there is no Routerboard), Experiments (Trial), or Network Simulation (can use GNS3 applications).
