The Rochdale Olympic Phase 2 sports-car, a brochure review
The Phase 2 version of the classic Rochdale Olympic home-built sports-car is the subject of this classic brochure/leaflet review. Here I have a flick through a 1963 leaflet for the revised, Phase 2, version of the Rochdale Olympic 2+2, and also scan a couple of period road-test reports for this classic British car.
The Olympic differed to the earlier Rochdale ST and Rochdale GT thanks to its use of monocoque (ie chassis-less) construction. Various engine options were offered with the first cars, the Phase 2 though honed in on Ford's 1500cc four-cylinder unit as the default choice, with the option of upgrading to the more powerful version as found in the Ford Cortina GT of the day.
