I show how to calculate the expectation value of an experiment when the system is prepared in one state and then measured in another. I show how the Born rule (named after Max Born, not Jason Bourne) is involved. I then show how to calculate the variance and uncertainty of an observable and how that fits in with the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
