What is the the difference between a small light source and large light source? Softer Light!
In this quick video, we show you the difference between a small light fixture and a large light source. Harder light vs Softer light. When we want softer features on a face, more gradual fall-off in for shadows in our shot, then we need to use a larger light source. That means you can walk your light source in and then cut the level of light, or put some kind of modifier in front of your light to make the light-emitting surface larger.
The larger the light source the more warp there is and can be a more pleasing look.
We also demo a new flag prototype called a "Swag Flag" also known in the industry as a wag flag. The purpose of this flag is to have a large light modifier but with a small footprint and it doesn't weigh much.
