Going by the specs, the Acer Swift 5 ultra-thin laptop boasts a 14-inch display featuring Full-HD resolution. The 14-inch IPS panel on the device also happened to be a touch-screen. And when we performed Acer Swift 5 touch screen review, we found that the touch-screen panel to be really responsive. However, there was also a fair amount of latency, which is not preferred in modern day laptops.
On the design front, the device is really sleek and looks quite appealing. It is also absolutely light when it comes to the weight. It is light as a notebook. When the performed the Acer Swift 5 vs Dell XPS 13 comparison, we found the Swift 5 to be lighter than the XPS 13. Being a lightweight device, the device really handy to carry around. So there won’t be any problem related to backaches while carrying the device around.
On the performance front, you will get the 8th gen Core i5 8250U processor paired with 8GB of DDR3 RAM. On the storage front, you’ll get 256GB of SSD. Our Acer Swift 5 CSGO experience was okay at best. But the our Acer Swift 5 GTA 5 and Acer swift 5 PUBG experience was absolutely devastating as the laptop refused to run the game. So the Acer Swift 5 is not made for the gamers. Although the display on the device features 96% of sRGB and 60% of Adobe RGB, the Acer Swift 5 for video editing is not recommended since the laptop is not that capable of handling the demanding video editing software. But you can use the Acer Swift 5 for programming as long as the programming software is not so demanding.
Talking about the keyboard, the Acer Swift 5 features a backlit keyboard. However, the Acer Swift 5 backlit keyboard glows only in white so you are love with the RGB lighting, you should skip this one. On the right of the keyboard on the device also lies a fingerprint sensor. The Acer Swift 5 fingerprint reader also comes with the Windows Hello feature, which is a nice addition.
Moving on the battery, the device is fueled by a 4670mAh battery. With the 36 watt-hour battery, the device promises 8 hours of battery life. But on our use, we found the Acer Swift 5 battery life to be 6 hours only on the normal use. Nonetheless, it is decent enough for any ultrabook.
