There are two main ways to create a star rating system in Excel:

⨀ Apply conditional formatting: Highlight the cells where you want the stars to appear. Then go to the "Conditional Formatting" menu and choose "New Rule." Select "Icon Sets" for formatting style and choose the "Stars" icon set.
⨀ Define the rating criteria: In the "Format values where this rule applies" section, you can set the thresholds for each star rating. For example, a value greater than or equal to 4 could display 4 full stars, while a value between 3 and 4 could display 3 full stars and a half star.
