Custom Github Action 🤖 to sync markdown docs with our Supabase db! 🔴 LIVE Coding & Chill
Let’s figure out how to create our own Github Action!
This was inspired by our previous livestream where we added Generative Q&A to our app! It was awesome, and we made heavy use of the `embeddings-generator` Github Action by Supabase… so maybe we can create a similar one, just for syncing our markdown documents with our Supabase database, so we can more easily query them and render them in our SvelteKit app!
There are packages like https://www.npmjs.com/package/vite-pl... which make Vite projects import markdown files directly, but I feel there’s more opportunity when you’ve got your documents in your database; for example, it’s easier to have amazing search, and suggest similar content! But I do like the simple editing experience of a local markdown file, and dislike the extra work to create an admin interface with a markdown editor 😄
A Custom Github Action may allow us to have the best of both worlds, so let’s get to it!
