CHHAL || Original Composition || IMC Orientation 2018 || Indian Music Club, IIT BHU
In our Originals' series, we have a composition really close to our hearts. Named 'Udaan', we attempted to merge various contempary elements in one song giving us our only composition with rap. Let us know your interpretation of the lyrics and also the music composition, and you will understand why it's famously known as 'Chhal' ;)
LYRICS:
Resham ki ek begani si dori se, Bandha tha jo hua, wo patang tha mera
Aadi Tirchhi Anjaani si raaho pe, machalta sirfira, wo patang tha mera
Ambar ki aazadi ko chhune chala, ladta havao se, apni manzil ko dhundhe
Jo Badal ki Shaakh se, tha bhavro ko dekhta
Vo, Bandish ki dor ko, tod, udta hi chala!
[RAP]
Half a decade late,he came back to his town/
Everything is so refreshing, trees green and brown/
Bright sunshining, lovely day as of now/
Saw a tree stump half, choped and gone dry/
Curious mysterious so he went near by/
Engraved his name,not his hand,now thats a surprise/
Black curls,pretty face,eyes,blue as of sky/
OR WERE THEY GREEN??cant remember aint know if I'm ryt??/
Accusing flashes of face ,a predatory prawl/
Broken hearts, what the reason for the act of foul/
But he'll remember his first flame, till eternity dies/
Her smile ravishing his heart, messmerising eyes/
YES!she was an angel, but fallen one at that/
Her venom had poised so many lives, since then/
Broken hearts like huckrux, just to punish the fairy/
But in everystory last one is harry/
Hasraten nigahon me, leke aage havao ke chala, duniya se bekhabar
Kaali un ghataon se upar dono jahano ke chala, khwaabo ki kashti me
Dil me ik tarang udta jaaye to malang befikra, na koi shikhwa na gila
Puri karne khwahishen jeene saari farmaishen chala, apni aazadi ko
Jo Badal ki Shaakh se, tha bhavro ko dekhta
Vo, Bandish ki dor ko, tod, udta hi chala!
