In this video, Fred Vallaeys guides us through the process of using advanced language models, namely GPT and Google Bard, to create concise summaries of extensive video transcripts.
Vallaeys initially attempts to use GPT, but quickly encounters a limitation - the model can't handle the full transcript of a 30-minute video, requiring the transcript to be pared down before input.
He then shifts gears to Google Bard, a model that accommodates a larger input, albeit with its own constraints. Despite this, Bard proves to be proficient, delivering an accurate and useful summary of the video transcript.
The exploration doesn't stop there. We demonstrate how GPT can handle the truncated input similar to what Bard accepted. We also take GPT-4, available through a paid subscription, for a spin. Despite being slower, GPT-4 delivers a more thorough summary.
While these language models do have their limitations, particularly in input length, we show that there are still effective ways to leverage them for summarizing longer pieces of data. Ultimately, the choice between these models will hinge on your individual needs for speed versus detail. Enjoy the video and discover which model suits your needs best!
