Wych Elm - Wych Elm (full album, 2021)
We open this week’s Dungeon Synth Sunday with a mysterious British artist, and their sole demo release from last year. The self-titled Wych Elm is a quintessentially English album of our times. Beautifully composed layers of dark forest drone cast an arcane sombre atmosphere, laden with a bucolic sadness that sheds its heavy heart into the cool soil under the shade of ancient trees.
The intro to this week’s edition is another piece from Danish Artist Kay Nielsen; a detail from the illustration On the Way to the Dance, for the 1912 book "In Powder and Crinoline"
