Problem Syncing iCloud / Game Center Game Data Between Apple Devices
There was finally a reason to reactivate my Apple Arcade subscription. Hipster Whale released a new tower in Crossy Road Castle. And initially, I was able to use my previous saved game data. When using my Mac on macOS Sequoia, I could see the Prince and all of the towers unlocked.
Nearly a year and a half later, I was able to continue the game from its previous state.
However, when I tried to play the game on my iPhone (iOS) or Apple TV (tvOS), the data was not there. It was as if the adventure was starting over from the beginning. Since this quest started many years ago, going back to the very beginning was not desirable.
Was I able to fix the problem? How was I able to sync Game Center / iCloud devices across my Apple devices? Unfortunately, my Apple TV is still not synced. The saved game data still did not copy over. Even after reviewing Apple's support documentation, it looked like everything checked out…

My iPhone wasn't updated to the latest version of iOS, but I was able to make it work. By connecting my iPhone to my Mac, I was able to get both devices to use the latest Crossy Road Castle game data that was stored in iCloud. The video shows the Mac and the iPhone (via iPhone Mirroring) using the same data.
While I don't know exactly what fixed the problem, there seems to be something else going on here. 🤔
Even though the Apple TV does not show the same data, it is able to access the same Game Center achievements. That's something funny in this technical mess. Previously, two of the Sand Castle Shores achievements were broken. But with the game reset, I could use Blue the cat to quickly remedy that problem. 😸
