Exadata Cloud at Customer (ExaCC) provides a unique opportunity to move your databases to the Oracle cloud without even leaving your own data center. It allows cloud flexibility and keeps full control over the data. It could be an excellent opportunity for the first step to the cloud before the full adoption of the public cloud approach. During the presentation we will discuss available options, how to calculate cost and capacity, and to move your database over to the ExaCC. We will discuss necessary organization and processes changes based on real experience of deploying one of the first Gen 2 ExaCC in Canada.
We are going to walk through available options for ExaCC gen2, principal architecture and what we need to keep in mind when we estimate capacity.
The second part will be dedicated to migration options and what tools can be used for testing, migration and how to make it with minimal downtime.
The third part will be about changes required from the in-house DBA team and company's processes and change management after migration to the new environment.
All will be based on real experience of migration more than 200 databases to the ExaCC gen 2 and on previous experience working on migration to ExaCC gen 1.
