A simplified Vorkath guide for beginners. That means budget/ironman-friendly gear and NO advanced strategies.
In this guide, we take a look at Vorkath's mechanics so you can go into your first Vorkath attempt (pre- or post-quest) knowing all the essentials.
Vorkath attacks in a 6-1 cycle, meaning he does 6 basic attacks, followed by 1 special attack, and this repeats until he is killed. The first special is always random, and then he alternates between the two.
Overview of his basic attacks:
standard dragonfire (orange ball): you don't have to do anything
venomous dragonfire (green ball): sip anti-venom if not yet immune
prayer dragonfire (pink ball): turn quick prayers back on
magic attack (blue ball): do nothing, just tank this
ranged attack (grey spiky thing): do nothing, since you are praying protect from missiles
VERTICALLY launched fireball: move two tiles to avoid being one-banged
melee attack: only happens when within melee distance so it shouldn't happen to you when ranging
Overview of his (2) SPECIAL attacks:
Acid/spit phase: you must keep moving during this special attack while avoiding acid pools. Not moving = rapid damage and you will probably die. Use the tiles in the back row, hold CTRL to walk, and turn on your true tile, as explained in the video to get through this special attack. This one is the most difficult, and will take some practice.
Zombified spawn: switch to your slayer staff as soon as you see the white dragonfire and attack the zombified spawn. As long as you react accordingly, you should not struggle with this special. Note: your slayer staff must be pre-set to AUTOCAST CRUMBLE UNDEAD for this to work.
Recommendations/requirements:
85 ranged is highly recommended (gem crab is ur friend)
Salve amulet (ei) is a must!!
always use ruby bolts (e) for the special attack (even as an ironman, make these!)
use a slayer staff and make sure autocast crumble undead is enabled
