Turn scanned documents, screenshots, receipts, and photos into editable text with MiniWebTool’s free OCR / Image to Text tool. This tutorial shows how Optical Character Recognition identifies text within an image while keeping your files private. All processing happens locally in your browser, so your images are never uploaded to an external server.

You’ll learn how to drag and drop an image, paste a screenshot directly from your clipboard, and preview the source file before extraction. The video also explains how to choose from more than 100 supported languages. Selecting the language that matches your document helps the tool recognize accents, special characters, and words more accurately.

After choosing the correct language, click the Primary Extraction button to convert the image into plain, editable text. Copy the result into a document, spreadsheet, email, or other application. For faded documents, low-contrast photographs, and images affected by shadows, use the built-in brightness, contrast, and binarization controls. Adjust the image in the real-time preview, then run the extraction again for improved results.
