How do you combine multiple videos in one frame? The split screen effect is widely used in films and television because it lets you easily show simultaneous actions in different places or from different viewing angles. You've probably seen such videos on YouTube or TV! This effect can be also found in sports broadcasts, reviews, and when unpacking videos. The screen splitting effect is also great for capturing conversations!
Let’s see how we can make this effect ourselves!
Step 1. Open your video editing program and add the source files.
Step 2. Drag the second video above the main one - it will create a new timeline automatically. Double click the video on the upper track to edit it.
Step 3. Click the 'side by side' option in the menu and choose the orientation you want - horizontal or vertical.
Step 4. Add different filters to create an appropriate atmosphere. You can find all our collections here. Add your favourite music too!
