Kennedy is stepping into a whole new challenge and we're taking y'all along for every awkward, exciting, and rewarding step of the journey! 🐴💕
Today we're switching things up with Kennedy as we start preparing her for what could be an exciting new chapter. After an English Versatility warm-up (in a Western saddle! 🤠), we're getting to work on one of our biggest goals: developing her into a Western Riding horse.
Kennedy has already accomplished so much in the show pen, and now it's time to challenge her brain in a completely different way. We work through patterns, poles, transitions, lead changes, and plenty of learning moments along the way. I love sharing these sessions because they show that even accomplished horses, and riders, don't start out perfect. Every new goal comes with practice, mistakes, and a whole lot of figuring things out together.
One of my favorite parts of this ride was seeing Kennedy think through something completely new. It's a good reminder that keeping our horses mentally engaged can be just as important as physical training, and I can't wait to see how she progresses over the next several months.
