How to Set Up a Geofence on The Android App

Hi guys, what we’re going to cover in this short tutorial here today is how to create a geofence or keep-in zone on the Android device.
What we’re going to do is log in as previously taught and we’re then going to zoom in to our GPS tracking asset, as you can see here denoted by ‘Test’.
From there, what we’re going to do is, on the right-hand side of the screen in the second block of icons down, is click on the geofence location icon.
From there we’re going to select the star keep-in zone.
When we’ve done that, what we’re then going to do is create a geofence around our GPS asset tracker, so all we’re going to do is create a box.
We’re going to tap in all four corners like so and on the fourth corner we’re going to double-tap.
From there, the geofence will then go orange denoting that the system has recognised your commands.
What we’re then going to do is name the zone.
From there, when we’ve named our zone, we’re then going to press ‘Save’ and it’s going to ask us if we want to create an alert.
What this will do is allow you to set up an alert to the mobile number that you initially input into the system in the first tutorial.
On this screen, it’s going to ask you for an alert name, this will show up on the text message that the device will send you should your GPS tracker leave your geofence.
What we’re then going to do is come down and set the priority to ‘High’.
We’re then going to select which asset, if you have multiple assets, you want to send you the command, and in our case it’s going to be ‘Test’.
I’m going to scroll down and select ‘Zone’ which is ‘Zone 1’.
I’m going to come down and ensure that the ‘Notify me with SMS’ is clicked ‘On’ and notify me on screen.
That will allow you to be notified and get an audible alarm on the app.
What we’re then going to do is press ‘Save alert’.
At this point it’ll tell you that the alert is saved and all the information has been acknowledged by the system.
We then press ‘Ok’.
At this point the geofence is in position and set should the GPS tracker be removed from the geofence location or the keep-in zone highlighted in the orange box and you will receive a text message then to your mobile phone denoting or letting you know that this has happened.
It’s very, very important that you set the correct phone number.
Just to give you a visual representation of the user preferences section of the app, this will just jog your memory back to one of the first tutorials that we covered for the Android app.
Again you can see the number under ‘Personal preferences’ like so and that’s where you must ensure that the correct mobile number is inserted and we press ‘Save’.
Ok guys, thank you for listening and I’ll speak to you in the next tutorial.
