Dario Amodei WARNS: People Have No Idea What's Coming In 2027
Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, says he is 90% certain that AI reaching the level of a country of geniuses in a data center will arrive within 10 years, with his personal hunch placing it at 1 to 2 years. Anthropic has officially forecast AI systems matching or exceeding Nobel Prize winners by late 2026 or early 2027. He says end-to-end coding will be solved within 1 to 2 years, that robotics will be revolutionised a year or two after AGI arrives, and that AI-driven economic growth could hit 50% annually in Silicon Valley while barely moving elsewhere. He warns that misaligned superhuman AIs, bioterrorism enabled by proliferating open-source models, and the rapid diffusion of AI-built AI represent dangers for which no governance architecture yet exists, and that the average person on the street has no idea any of this is coming.
