Elden Ring - Rya's Questline (FULL NPC QUEST WALKTHROUGH w/ COMMENTARY)
This begins Rya / Zoraya's questline! There is a big note and a big but though, you MUST NOT defeat Lord Rykard before starting this quest because if you do, she will not be at the Liurnia of the Lakes to speak to and invite the player to the Volcano Manor. You MUST NOT also complete the final 3rd contract until you have completed Rya's quest. It should all take place within your visit to the Volcano Manor and once everything inside is done, then you can complete your visit.
To start Zoraya's quest you must head to Liurnia of the Lake and speak with her, she will be standing gazing inside a gazeebo just next to the Birdseye Telescope. She will inform the player that a thug had ran off with her special neckalce. Go to the thug, Blackguard Boggart and convince him to sell you back the necklace for 1000 runes. Once you have the necklace bring it back to Rya and you will receive an invitiation to the Volcano Manor from her.
Now you must reach the Altus Plateou, either from the grand Lift Dectus or by the back tunnels leading up to the first Magma Wyrm boss fight. Either way you see Rya waiting for you outside each pivotal point, at either the fron of the Grand Lift Dectus if taken that way or by the grace of the Lux Ruins near the Abandoned Coffins. Speaking with her here will allow the player exclusive access to the interior of the Volcano Manor and priviledge to join.
Speak with Lady Tanis about joining, and then speak with Rya. She will complain about slithering sounds coming from the walls. While you are here pick up the contract on the table. Go through to the Prison Town Church grace via an illusory wall in the first availble room you can open the doors to in the hall. Return back to Rya to inform of what the noises were.
Complete the first contract and optionally get the reward from Lady Tannis, then speak with Rya in the new room she has been moved to, you can reload the area if she is not there. Next we need to complete the second contract and defeat the Godskin Noble. On the altar of the boss with be the Serpents Amnion. Give this back to Rya and tell her what you see beyond the walls of the Manor and she will become sad and move to a basement area past the boss room.
Reload the area and you can speak with Lady Tanis about Zoraya's absence, she will give the player a tonic of forgetfulness. This is optional to hand over to Rya, if you do she will be in an endless slumber and the only way to get her items is to kill her.
Go to the Legacy Duneon's interior and speak with Rya, she will be kneeling by some red candles. She will ask the player to killer her. Please dont. Murder Rykard the last boss of the Volcano Manor and when you return to Rya she will leave the player a note depicting her new start in life moving on, also the Daedicars Woe Talisman which increased damage taken to the player when worn.
If you give her the Tonic of Forgetfulness she will remain in the idle spot she is kneeling for the rest of the game. It is noted that if you already have or/dont want the end quest items, you should leave her in this state so she is always availble to the player when they pass by, for Lady Tanis sake and the players sake.
