Title: Which AGN Jets Quench Star Formation in Massive Galaxies?
Abstract: We explore AGN jet models with isolated galaxy simulations of massive cluster ellipticals of 1014 Msun. We vary the energy form [kinetic, thermal, CR], fluxes, magnetic fields, opening angle, precession, and duty cycle. We found that the criteria for successful jet models are an optimal energy flux and a wide jet cocoon with a long enough cooling time at the cooling radius. To fulfill them, we either need a CR jet, hot thermal jet, light fast kinetic jet, or widely precessing jets. Among them, CR jets allow a wider parameter space because of the extra pressure and thermal instability suppression.
