455: Born-Oppenheimer approximation
In this video, we discuss the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. It separates the motion of the electrons from that of the nuclei in a molecule. As a consequence, the overall wavefunction can be written as a single product of a nuclear and an electronic wavefunction.
