MSFS FENIX A320 - Automatic Engine Start
Automatic Engine Start Summary:
First make sure bleed pressure is available for engine start (APU, Crossbleed or external) and that the fuel pumps are on!
1) ENG MODE selector to IGN/START - FADEC electrically powered
Crosses on E/WD disappear and SD page shows ENGINE page,
also the Pack Valves close automatically
2) ENG MASTER SWITCH (1 or 2) - ON - Automatic Start sequence begins:
•Start Valve and valve opens allowing bleed pressure to power the turbine starter
The High Pressure Fuel Valve opens
• At 16% N2 the FADEC selects ignition (A or B)
• At 22% N2 the Fuel Flow will start to increase and within 15 seconds there should be an increase of EGT and N1
• At 50% N2 the ignition turns off and the Start Valve closes
• The engine will show a green AVAIL when it is stabilized
The following idle engine parameters for the FENIX A320 are observed at sea level:
N1 about 19.0%
N2 about 59.0%
EGT about 500 degrees Celcius
Fuel Flow about 280 kg/hr
