SSL Fusion Plugins Overview - Violet EQ & Transformer
We explore two plugins from the SSL (Solid State Logic) Fusion range. Headliner's Rick Dickerson tests the Fusion Violet EQ and the Fusion Transformer.
Fusion Violet EQ:
The Violet EQ is a 2-band minimum phase-shift shelving EQ based on the Fusion Stereo Analogue Colour processor hardware. The software version, however, also includes the addition of a 'fat' button, which enhances the Violet EQ Plug-in's low frequency control. It's a very musical EQ as you'll hear in our demonstration.
Fusion Transformer:
The SSL Fusion Transformer plugin replicates the unique character of an analogue transformer in your DAW. SSL claim the Transformer Plug-in adds low-end 'thickness' and high-end sheen to your productions. When mixing 'in the box' the addition of analogue modelling can add the secret sauce that often feels missing in the digital realm.
