Core Gripper for Handling Splined Cores
The core gripper vertical spindle attachment was designed in response to a customer enquiry in the marine industry to handle splined core cylinders for assembly onto shafts for commercial marine water pumps.
The splined core cylinders comprise precision metal castings. The water pump shaft is inserted into the splined core of the metal cylinder casting where the assembly is rotated to pump water.
The splined core cylinders are picked up via the core in the vertical position and rotated as required to minimize manual handling and improve health and safety conditions.
The vertical spindle attachment incorporates a core gripping mechanism to securely hold and grip the fragile splined cores without causing damage to the structure or integrity of the metal castings with carbon fibre cores.
