About the Panelists
Sean ShannonInstructor, Web Development Immersive,

Sean is a self-taught programmer who has been coding at some of DC's most prominent startups and agencies since 2010. After graduating from The George Washington University with a degree in Economics, he stayed in DC and nurtured his interest in programming into a full-time career. Since then he's worked alongside some the city's best engineers using a variety of programming languages and frameworks, but is most familiar with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Backbone and Node.js.
When he's not working on his own crazy schemes and side projects or helping others learn to code, Sean is more than likely traveling around the country playing ultimate frisbee. And no, that does not involve throwing frisbees to dogs.

Holly Gibson is the Lead Developer at Learning List, an education startup providing independent professional reviews of K-12 instructional materials. She is an advocate for disability rights and has experience working with non-profits affecting change among the marginalized. A graduate of MakerSquare, Holly serves the Austin tech community as the local organizer of Women Who Code, a global network inspiring women to excel in technology careers.

Ryan Joy has been developing for web and desktop user experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frontend technologies since the late ‘90s. He's also worked with more than a few backend technologies and frameworks. These days he’s a Startup & Developer Evangelist @ Microsoft promoting those same technologies to others. He’s active in the local Austin web tech communities both as organizer (Refresh Austin and the Austin Web Design Meetup) and as frequent attendee. You can usually find him in Austin, TX. Austin on Rails
/ atxryadamon Clinkscales is the API Lead at VitalSource, one of the world's most widely used e-textbook platforms. He's the founder and leader of Austin on Rails (a technology user group established in 2005), Austin Open Coffee Club (entrepreneurs and investors chat over coffee), and Cafe Bedouins (a weekly hack night). He serves as a mentor to Techstars Austin and Longhorn Startup Lab, a program designed to encourage student entrepreneurship at the University of Texas. He is also an advisor to MakerSquare, a web development intensive bootcamp founded in Austin. Damon loves to help others along their path by sharing what he's learned, making connections, and building community.
