Letter from PMLP! Did you receive it?
The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) informs that in accordance with the Law “Amendments to the Immigration Law” adopted by the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia on 22.09.2022, your permanent residence permit will expire on 2 September 2023. In order to continue residing in the Republic of Latvia, you must submit documents to the OMC for requesting a permanent residence permit (European Union permanent resident status):
1. free-form application*;
2. copy of passport;
3. questionnaire and the documents specified therein*;
4. document confirming regular financial resources in the amount of at least the minimum monthly salary (620 EUR) over the last 12 months or confirmation that a pension has been granted;
5. document confirming that the state language test has been passed (level A2, certificate issued starting from 01.02.2001) or a document confirming that the state language test does not have to be taken.
(In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' Regulation No. 157 of 08.03.2022 "Regulations on the scope of knowledge of the state language and the procedure for testing state language proficiency", paragraph 7, a person who:
has obtained basic, secondary or higher education in accredited programs in Latvian or has taken the centralized exam in Latvian in the 9th or 12th grade (confirmed, for example, by a diploma, certificate, attestation, certificate from an educational institution);
has received an exemption from taking the state language proficiency test from a rehabilitation doctor or psychiatrist due to his health condition;
has not reached the age of 15;
has reached the age of 75.)
A state fee must be paid before submitting documents: for consideration of the application within 90 days - 70 EUR.

If your application to PMLP is not received by September 1, 2023, your permanent residence permit will expire from September 2, 2023, and you must leave the territory of the Republic of Latvia by December 2, 2023.
