Hello friends in this short video i will show you Motherland Calls in Russia using google earth app. The Motherland Calls is a colossal 85-metre (279-foot) statue located on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia, built to commemorate the Battle of Stalingrad (1942 - 1943), a pivotal conflict of World War II in which the Soviet Army triumphed over Nazi Germany. Designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and engineer Nikolai Nikitin, the reinforced concrete statue stands 87 metres (285 ft) tall, including its base – Mother Russia is brandishing a sword pointing forward and skyward, symbolizing the defense of the motherland. Constructed between 1959 and 1967, it was the tallest statue in the world upon completion and remains the tallest statue in Europe, although its original steel sword was replaced due to wind resistance.
