In this episode, you'll see how water supply fittings are made, including fire hydrants manufactured by AKWA. These hydrants transport water from the water supply network and are used by fire departments. They are made of cast iron, which is melted in furnaces called cupolas. Once the appropriate temperature is reached, the cast iron is sent to production lines, where it is formed in special machines that produce up to 400 molds per hour.

After pouring the molds, the castings undergo a cooling and cleaning process on vibrating grids. The parts are then machined on milling machines and lathes, where operations such as drilling, threading, and whitening are performed.

After machining, the components are painted in a powder coating facility. First, they are cleaned with shot blasting and then coated in a gas oven, where they are heated to 220°C. Products are painted using fluidized bed or electrostatic methods and then subjected to quality testing.

Finally, the fittings are assembled and tested, and the finished hydrants are prepared for transport.

Done! Akwa is ISO 9001 and GSK certified, a certificate confirming the quality of its paint coatings. The company's products ensure the efficient operation of water supply networks and water supply through hydrants nationwide. Because Akwa means "water"!

If you enjoyed this episode, you absolutely must see how waterworks work!
