"The use of cloud infrastructure has provided many benefits for developers and companies to accelerate the speed of development and management of applications. However, there is often a misconception that the provider will handle security for you or that they have designed things to be secure by default. This couldn't be further from the truth and in many cases the opposite. This talk will explore the insecure defaults and common patterns, within each of the major cloud providers, based on assessing cloud environments for hundreds of companies. Each example will provide recommendations to help avoid security failures and highlight the need for cloud providers to present better guidance and options for secure defaults. The examples will also explore strengths and weaknesses between AWS, GCP and Azure in terms of different security controls."
