Jeff Brown - Using Lantern to shed light on FHIR API deployments | DevDays June 2022
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT supported MITRE to develop an open-source FHIR API Monitoring System known as "Lantern". This tool periodically monitors and evaluates certified health IT developers' implementation of FHIR API endpoints that provide patients access to their electronic health information.
This presentation describes how Lantern takes data from endpoints' capability statements and displays visualizations via a dashboard to provide insights into the availability of the endpoint and its use of FHIR. Additional steps to address variation in the publication of the capability statements that would make the information easier for Lantern and other stakeholders to use the information are discussed. .
