📖 Story Synopsis:
At the age of twenty-four, Willow threw the engagement ring in my face
and left the country without looking back.
Her mother said,
“Seriously? You’re proposing with this cheap knockoff junk?”
Three years later,
I had made it big.
Famous, successful, worth hundreds of millions.
Then Willow called me out of nowhere, her voice trembling with emotion.
“Didn’t you say…
that as long as I turned back,
I’d find you still waiting for me?”
“Now I want to tell you…”
“I’m back.”
Meanwhile, I lowered my head and looked at my daughter, who had mush smeared all over her face.
Then I glanced at the unfamiliar number on my phone and said with a completely baffled expression,
“Wait… who even are you?”
The world went silent.
My daughter, however, did not.
She slapped her tiny hand straight into the carrot puree—
and splattered it all over my face.
