Free-to-play MMO game ‘Lost Ark’ will no longer be getting its western release this year, the developers have announced.

The Korean MMO title being localised by Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG, was previously scheduled for a western release in Autumn. However, following a Closed Technical Alpha in June, its release has now been pushed back to early 2022.

According to an official announcement on the game’s website, they revealed that while delving into all of the great feedback and data generated by the Alpha and reviewing recent changes to the Korean version that they want to include in their release, they discovered “a lot more work that will be needed to launch Lost Ark at the high-quality bar our players deserve.”

They continued to say that as players have been waiting for so long, they want to take the time to do it right while also ensuring they look after the wellness of the hardworking Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG teams, and with that in mind, they have “made the tough decision to push the launch of Lost Ark to early 2022”.

It was also revealed that they will be holding a Closed Beta test from November 4 to November 9.
