Korean Traditional Music Ensemble DASRUM
DASRUM, the Premier All-Female Korean Music Ensemble was established in 1990 by 8 female players. It is an orchestra that has performed over 600 times with creative music presentation of Korean Classical music. The best characteristic of DASRUM music is “sensitive and soft musical performance” which joins aesthetics of traditional music with the refined modern sense in a peaceful atmosphere.
The overseas performance of DASRUM started in 2005 and have been exciting stage that embed the beauty of Korean Music in the hearts of the people worldwide.
Tours from the Middle East, Colombia, Peru, Singapore, Hungary, Bosnia, US, China, Japan and Mexico have been well attended and Kenya made a mark on this extending list.
At this event organized by the Korean Embassy in Kenya and H.E Kwon Young Dae , The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, at the Safari Park Hotel, Nyama Choma Ranch was attended by many Kenyans from all walks with high expectancy to be treated to a good musical experience.
The orchestra used various KOREAN traditional musical instruments such as Bak, Piri, Gayageum, Taepyeongso, Haegeum, Janggu, Ajaeng, Kkwaenggwari and the Daegeum.
