It's a Ghat and very famous cremation site as river Ganga is called Ganga Ghat in shashtras providing way to heaven for the demised peoples. Opposite to Ghat there is beautiful jungle and mountain, you must visit in evening hours to enjoy beauty of this scene. Water of Ganges is always cold and fresh. Lots of people do pooja there, you could enjoy with the group. There is a space limited until which the travelers can go don't go into deep waters as the river force may take you away.
