This is my unboxing of the brand new XHDATA D-220. It is a very small pocket radio with two FM bands, one MW band and one SW band covering 5.6 MHz to 22 MHz. It is a very simple radio, with an on/off dial that doubles as the volume control, a tuning dial and a button for switching bands. A reminder of simple pocket radios from years gone by.
The radio is very attractive and comes in three colours: green, orange and black. My very brief initial test surprised me, this radio is really sensitive! On SW you barely touch the tuning dial and another signal jumps in, using just the very short built-in antenna. The sound is warm and clear. It uses two AA batteries.
This radio really takes me back to simpler time when most radios operated like this. Switch on, tune in, listen. It's actually a lot of fun! I will do a full review later and make more reception videos in the coming weeks.
I paid about $10 for mine with a coupon from Amazon. Right now, you can buy the XHDATA D-220 for about $14 from XHDATA, here: https://xhdata.com.cn/products/xhdata...
You can win this radio in my raffle: • This radio surprised me the most in 2024!
PLEASE NOTE: I am sorry to say, but someone has been spamming my channel with fake messages to viewers that they won the radio raffle. The person used my picture, but a different channel name. I really don't understand why anyone would do something like that. Of course, as I said in the video about the raffle, the draw will only be on the 1st of December and the names of the winners will be announced in a live stream. I have now changed the settings on my channel, for the time being. All comments must now be moderated first. That seems to be the only way that I will be able to stop this evil scammer. Sorry about this. You can keep commenting, I will approve everything, except this scammer's comments.
