This segment of Tat-Stories comes form the Golden State Tattoo Expo in Pasadena CA, thanks to the organizers and Nikko for the invite. We had a great time talking to people collecting their ink tales.
Our fist interview is with Yvonne who was visiting Pasadena to continue a great dragon piece being done by her artist. She explained she found her artist via a Google search - she wanted a master of Japanese stick and poke and she found him. We loved her horse and ape right sleeve - it's drinking awesome. Shout out to Tim and Good Omen - great work dude. Now as amazing as her right arm is - Yvonne covered her left arm with her own stick and poke practice - some artists we have talked to call that their shit sleeve - but hey no judgement here because the from from her friend is awesome. You will never guess what her neck piece is - you got it - stick and poke - sensing a theme yet? We heard that reoccurring theme that tattoos were therapy for her. You really need to see the epic line work that was done on Yvonne's front - it's amazing, and be sure and take a look at her back piece too.
Our second interview is with Carol, the expectant wife of one of the tattoo artists from Boston working at the Expo. He was so darn happy to see his wife getting a little attention - fact is - we thought they were both awesome. Now Carol originally hails from Switzerland so we've got a little international flair for you. We start at the top with this great gal - she was sporting one hell of a neck piece you are going to love. We loved Carol telling us she had to talk Marcel, her artist husband, into her first tattoo from him, heck it was her forst tattoo period. We especially loved the weeding picture portrait of her grandma and grandpa on one of her sleeves, very cool. Carol's other sleeve just plain rocks the house - it is a house and bird. Carol closed in out with her movie leg and she told us she was not attracted to her husband because he was a tattoo artist. All we can say is she sure gets great perks. Finally, Carol was expecting their fist child so - CONGRATULATIONS TO MARCEL AND CAROL - the crew is so happy for you both.
