Guillaume Butin, Chief Marketing Officer at Prophesee, demonstrates the company's latest embedded vision technologies and products at the 2019 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Butin demonstrates the company's patented Event-Based Vision system, focusing on one core differentiation point versus traditional sensors: the fact that it does not have a frame rate. Prophesee's Event-Based sensor does not generate frames at a pre-defined rhythm but instead in response to events. Each pixel is independent and asynchronous and only activates itself when it detects a change in the scene. This new vision category allows for unprecedented speed, dynamic range, data and power efficiency.
