The Convectrix was never really a fan favorite. Why would it be? All that should change now since the Convectrix is one of the few winners of the Status and Damage Type changes brought at the start of the year.
The weapon features a huge status chance, forty five percent per beam and it fires two even thou it takes about a second for the two to meet in the center. The Alt fire features a scissor-like motion of the two beams which is not super usable or fun in my option.
Critical chance is low at sixteen percent but the base multiplier is nice at two point four which means it's still worth building critical on the weapon but I would dich Blunderbuss in favor of Laser Sight as long as you are comfortable with the gameplay condition.
Being a beam weapon we also get two damage applications per ammo which means two sources of a potential proc. This is one of the reasons why the Convectrix can apply a huge amount of statuses to a target. Add the Convectrix only mod Efficient Beams to the mix and you have all the makings for a an absolute Damage Powerhouse.
I'd advise going for the rank zero on the two viral mods so you make way for more slash procs as your viral procs will get to max very quickly anyway.
Other than that you still have a bit of wiggle room in the actual build and Vicious Spread, Shotgun Spaz, Motus Setup and Shotgun Savvy are all worthy options. You can even drop the critical mods and go for a full status approach which will yield good results but not optimal.
Riven Mod Disposition is also Huge Plus on this weapon. Five out o Five and the Rivens are not very expensive. As a priority I'd go with Multishot and Damage about everything else but Status chance is not bad and Critical Chance is not terrible either. I'd get an unrolled one and get to rolling.
Overall the Convectrix went from one of the worse weapons in the game to one of the best and most powerful Single Target Primary weapons you can get. It should serve you nicely in Steel Path or wherever else you chose to go. The only issue I take with it is the initial behavior of the two beams.
