Hey Commanders! We're back with episode 2 of our Ultracorp playthrough in the Stellaris 4.3 Open Beta, and our trade starbase strategy has scaled to absolutely ridiculous levels. Here's the link for the full playthrough playlist:

We've hit over 1,000 trade per month just from our starbases alone. To put that in perspective, that's more trade than most trade-focused empires generate across their entire economy at this stage of the game.

Here's where this build gets completely broken - with over 1,000 excess trade, we can literally buy anything we want from the internal market. Need alloys to build a fleet? We buy them. Need consumer goods to keep our specialists happy? We buy them.

Later in the episode, we finish our war against the Fanatic Purifiers who had advanced start year. With our economy pumping out thousands of trade value, we easily afford the fleet power needed to crush them completely. After victory, we release them as three different types of vassals - each serving a specific purpose in our growing economic empire.

Our vassal strategy includes setting up scholarium vassals for research, prospectorium for resource income, and bulwark for military support. While these vassals aren't particularly strong in the early stages due to AI economy weakness in 4.3, they'll become valuable assets as we develop our mid game galactic trade network.

The key to our success is understanding how trade starbases work in patch 4.3. The devs made mining stations significantly more powerful, and trade follows similar logic. Starbases don't require pops, don't have job upkeep costs. By specializing every starbase we build into trade, we're bypassing all the economic bottlenecks that other empires face.

We're also taking advantage of megacorp mechanics that amplify trade generation. Our civics, ethics, and traditions all stack multiplicatively to create absolutely insane trade numbers from starbases. This is the new meta for megacorp builds in 4.3, and nobody else is talking about it yet since we're the first creators making open beta content.

By the end of this episode, we've established complete economic dominance over our region of the galaxy. Our vassals are set up to grow and contribute resources. Our trade network is generating wealth faster than we can spend it. And we're positioned perfectly to scale into the late game with overwhelming economic and technological superiority.

Let us know in the comments what you think of this trade starbase approach, Commanders. Should we keep scaling this strategy even further, or branch into military conquest now that our economy is completely solved? We're testing the limits of what's possible in 4.3, and we want to hear your ideas for where to take The Ultracorp next!

Thanks for watching Commanders, and welcome to The Ultracorp!

Our Build:

Civics:
Worker Cooperative + Trading Posts

The Worker Cop. allows us to have the mutual aid trade policy, which converts our trade into energy, minerals, food and unity, alongside keeping some of the trade for ourselves. This means that with enough trade value, we can completely negate all of our worker population. On top of that, worker cooperative does not allow elite population, so we're literally with only one strata to maximize.

The trading posts is a unique strategy I'm doing using the trade hubs to boost up our trade in the early game. Later on it's definitely going to fall off a little, but for now it serves a good purpose.

Ethics:
Fanatic Xenophile + Egalitarian

Fan. Xenophile grants us more trade value and increases the chance to establish embassies, which we need to form commercial pacts and establish our branch offices. Egalitarian is needed for the Worker Cooperative and also buffs our specialists, the only strata we have basically.

Traits:
Thrifty + Unbreakable Resolve + Rapid Breeders
Non-adaptive + Repugnant

Thrifty for trade, unbreakable resolve for more stability, which in turn increases trade, rapid breeders for more pop, since it's always our bottleneck.

Non-adaptive is a free pick since we have the gaia-world preference, thus we either have 100% habitability or 0% always anyways. Repugnant is a free pick since we don't have any elite population.

Origin:
Life Seeded

Megacorp authority has +50% empire size from colonies, so we want to establish colonies only on good planets. This is by far the best planet to start with in terms of general output, since we have some special planetary features to produce all types of rare resources later on.

Ruler:
Official with Principled trait

Pretty standard, we want more stability to get more trade value and also once the officials reach veteran level, they can acquire a trait to increase trade value empire wide.
