The Faces of RETRIEVE: Meet Irene Mihai from RPIA
As we continue our series highlighting the brilliant women driving innovation in the RETRIEVE project, we’re excited to introduce Irene Mihai, Policy Officer at RPIA - Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association.
Irene plays a key role in coordinating policy framework development for RETRIEVE, ensuring that Europe creates the right conditions for a thriving PV recycling market. Through RPIA, she helps build a strong policy network to support the development of recycling infrastructure across Europe, paving the way for a circular economy in the solar sector.
What excites her most? Innovation. PV recycling is an emerging market, and RETRIEVE is shaping its foundation at the European level—made in Europe, for Europe. The project is not only essential for energy security and clean energy goals but also contributes to Europe’s raw materials independence by upcycling existing solar panels and reintegrating them into the manufacturing cycle.
