In this tutorial we will explain you how to perform the first configuration of your cPanel WHM.
The procedure is the very same either for a VPS server or for a dedicated server.
There's just one slight difference, which I'm going to explain in the middle of the video, but the procedure is 99% the same.
First of all, access your WHM panel. Just type the IP address and port 2087, this is the standard port for our WHM which is the cPanel administrator.
We are going to use the username “root” and the password is exactly the same password as our server, our physical server. So I'm going to type my password, and then I’m going to click Log In.
When logged in WHM, you have six steps to prepare the server and have this server up and running in production.
The first step is the license agreement. Read the agreement and afterwards click “I agree/Go to step 2”.
In this screen, first of all, you will configure your contact e-mail address, let’s place here your email, afterwards it will ask for SMS and instant message contact. I personally don't like using this other things because I have my email here to receive any alert or any important message, so I’m going to skip this step.
