Quantitative analytics usually requires combining a calculation methodology with data in the form of software. Traditionally, the first two components have been on the main stage, but software was never the main actor. There are reasons for this: First, it was not easy or accessible to create a scalable solution. Second, the software component was just a means to an end, although the success of the first two depended on it. Even if you wanted to put more focus on how you delivered your quantitative analytics, many hurdles blocked your progress.
