What happens when we adults do what we do without thinking about the children. We examine that in more detail in this short film where a family of five goes on a road trip to a family hotel in Asker, by the Oslo Fjord.
Is freedom per se always good? As adults we have jobs and families and many people who depend on us and we have a lot of responsibilities..how does freedom come into it?
How is Marianne, who is Nora's great-granddaughter, managing her life in 1980 which is a time when women started to work full time. There are still some neighbors and grandparents available for the kids during daytime, but the after-school programs have not yet started. How does this affect the family holidays?
Marianne works as a child and youth psychiatrist who works intensely until the last hour before she leaves for summer vacation. Both husband and children are waiting for her when she picks them up with the family car full with suitcases. Leonard, her husband, is so frustrated by the situation that it affects both Marianne and their three children.
Leonard is in show business. He is both manager, artist, drummer and vocalist and works for himself. He tries to do everything at the same time, and then he notices that family life is also starting to go out off control. So he tries to combine organizing a big show at the hotel and a family holiday at the same time. He thinks there should be some sort of synergy there, mixing his professional life and his personal life in one place.
And then drama happens. But also something nice and fun. Because the TV channel MRK has the hotel as the location for its summer show with an up and coming star named "Adonis" as a conference.
