We are the Omni Movement, an endeavor to make improvised partner dancing, more commonly known as social dancing, more accessible across the globe. An #OmniImprov is a thematic social dance where we improvise in a unique everyday location: marketplaces, night clubs, grocery stores, restaurants, and more. Omni believes ANYONE can dance with ANYONE ANYWHERE to ANYTHING.
I was so excited to collaborate with Thuy for this first #OmniImprov. She is an amazingly creative dancer with backgrounds in blues fusion, salsa, ballroom, and more. With this piece, we wanted to connect social dancing to an environment dear to every one of us, our home. This place and this dance felt like the perfect starting point for Omni.
