Using Plug-Ins Unnecessarily (Producer's Guide to Optimizing Your DAW & Computer)
This is one of the most common mistakes I see, using CPU intense plug-ins for tasks that simply don't need them. Four or five plug-in EQs aren't a big deal for DAW performance, but sixty or seventy are.
