About three years ago, before I spend significant time writing in Kotlin (I was primarily working in Java back then), I was asked if new Developers should learn Java or Kotlin.
My answer back then was that I didn't think it was a good idea based on the state of learning resources and features of the language. However, I emphasized not to listen to anyone but yourself, and to follow your interest over what other people say.
Now that we're approaching 2019, I'm very very happy to be writing almost all of my application in Kotlin, and in this video, I present a few technical points as to why I'm so happy about Kotlin. I still think you should just follow your interests though.
