Backfocus is the distance where the corrective lens of the flattener produces the optimum image quality onto your camera sensor. My refractors all had a backfocus of 55mm's and my Celestron C8 has a backfocus of 105mm.

In this video I show how I mount my image train to have the correct backfocus.
