Not sure how this myth got started, but here we go. Does a pumping mother need to give her expressed daytime breastmilk only during the day? Does a pumping mother need to give her expressed nighttime breastmilk only during the nighttime?
If the mom gives daytime pumped milk during the night, does it make the baby stay awake? Or if the mom gives nighttime pumped milk during the day, does it make the baby sleep more during the day?
Breastmilk is a phenomenal living substance! And yes, it does evolve. If anyone could do something to make babies sleep at night and be more wakeful during the day, we would.
Babies have a circadian rhythm that is biologically set and that is just how it is. Babies are nighttime feeders and daytime sleepers.
